Kabuki Strength Lab is based out of Portland, Oregon in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We are a group of passionate amateur-to-elite level lifters, strength athletes, and coaches with a shared goal in bettering ourselves and growing in every facet of life – click here to learn more about why we do what we do. When you sign up for a membership at the Kabuki Strength Lab you’ll receive a 1-on-1 consultation from a member of the coaching staff which will include a full movement assessment, corrective interventions, and strategies for long-term improvement. Click here to learn more about what the in-person consultation is all about. We’ll also give you a walkthrough and show you how to use all of the equipment in our facility. This is also a great opportunity to pick the brains of our coaching staff and ask questions related to programming, injury prevention, and anything else related to getting stronger and moving better. Members have full access to our subscription movement library ($10.99/mo value). Our facility is also home to professional clinicians who offer services to members for an additional cost.
Our flagship and most popular Virtual Coaching service, Weekly Virtual Coaching includes comprehensive assessment and engagement to promote the best possible coach/athlete relationship. Our team has spent years building systems and processes to help optimize and provide the best possible feedback and direction forward week to week using various methods of auto-regulation, frequent feedback, and video analysis. We view this coaching as a long-term athletic development process, not just a 12-week program to peak you for a meet. This means we’re devoted to the holistic picture of helping you to improve in the direction of your specific goals and approaching them from all possible angles to help you to the greatest degree possible.
A slight variant of our flagship Virtual Coaching service, Monthly Coaching carries all the same principles of long term athletic development and goal oriented training. The biggest difference in this service is rather than checking in once per week, you will receive your training plan in four-week blocks and check in once every four weeks after completing it. You still have the same access to unlimited email/skype communication, but your check ins will be less frequent. This makes this a service well suited for people who have been Weekly Coaching clients in the past, and are heading into an off-season period, or for those people who need slightly less individualized attention from week to week. Consultation sessions include a full movement analysis (based on loaded movement), corrective interventions, and strategies for long term success. Consultations generally take 1-2 hours to complete based on your needs and how quickly you respond to our corrective interventions. These sessions are hands on and you’ll work privately with a member of our coaching staff.
Consultations may also be used also to discuss topics such as velocity-based training, periodization, program design, exercises to address weak points, and anything you want to discuss. We primary work with athletes new to barbell training, higher level athletes who need to get that extra 2% out of their technique, and coaches who want to learn skills to assess their own clients.
The Lab can be found at 9570 SE Lawnfield Rd. Clackamas, OR 97015. Our coaches practice what they preach. As competitive athletes, they’ve been in the trenches training, competing, and fighting for strength day-in and day-out. It isn’t just about being athletes however. Each coach is a part of our team because they bring the best combination of knowledge, drive, and a deep desire for personal development. Above anything else they are passionate about providing a high-level of service to their athletes. Rest assured, you will be in good hands with our coaches.
Stay up to date with happenings and events at the Lab, as well as seen when our regularly scheduled team training times are. If you wish to train with a group and get coaching from our staff, show up during team training!
