Stephen Justice

Stephen “Stevie Jay” Justice, 25, Massachusetts born and raised. – My interest in powerlifting began in college. I had never heard about powerlifting when one day a friend introduced me to Wendlers 5/3/1 program. It took off from there. I trained hard through the remainder of college, earning my degree in Environmental Economics and soon after being offered a job in Portland, OR. When I arrived, a simple Google search made it clear that Kabuki Strength Lab (Elite Performance Center at the time) was the obvious choice on where to continue training. Over the past 2 years at KSL I have made incredible progress. The intensity of team trainings paired with world class coaching provides a breeding ground for success in this sport.

I have taken my lifts to new heights, featuring personal bests of 575 Squat in wraps, 358 bench press, 606 pound deadlift and a 1,465 raw with wraps total in the 165 pound weight class. It’s not just my strength that has increased, but my knowledge of movement, my passion for helping new lifters and hunger for pushing myself to reach my goals. I also love to have fun. You’ll often catch me sporting sunglasses and refining my air guitar technique between lifts. Outside the gym I am an avid skier and backpacker, often taking trips throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. You can stay up to date with my training on Instagram: @SteviieJay
